Interested in staying in a “paradise” island for a couple of days, we ended up in Zanzibar and finally decided (once already installed in Zanzibar) to make a 1 day safari in Serengeti. Here are the images of our trip.
"Few people forget their first encounter with the Serengeti. Perhaps it's the view from the summit of Naabi Hill at the park's entrance, from where the Serengeti's grasslands stretch out like a vision of eternity. Or maybe it's a coalition of male lions stalking across open plains. Or it could be the epic migration of animals in their millions, following the ancient rhythm of Africa's seasons. Whatever it is, welcome to one of the greatest wildlife-watching destinations on earth.
The 14,763-sq-km national park is renowned for its predators, especially its lions. Hunting alongside them are cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, jackals and more. These feast on zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, topis, elands, hartebeests, impalas, klipspringers, duikers and so many more." Lonely Planet
While Flying
The three hours flights from Zanzibar to Serengeti were absolutely amazing. An adventure in intself, we loved it. The plane hops in and out of airport/airstrips in the Savannah and sometimes we were just the two of us with the pilots. It was the first time I took my "real" camera (a Sony A7III) with a "real" lens (mostly the 24-70 f/2.8) to take picture out of a plane. It was worth it, i think.

SAfari
Tanzania is an East African country known, amongst others, for the plains of the Serengeti National Park, a safari paradise populated by the “big five” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino), and Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain. We flew above these mountains on our way to Serengeti, and captured a few shots from the little plane, which landed then on the airstrip made of clay.
Our hotel (the White Sand Villas, in Zanzibar) had it organized. The company planing the safari is called Luxury Safari. Wake up time: 4:30 AM, driver ready to go at 5:00 AM, arrival at Zanzibar airport 6 AM and departure for Serengeti National Park at 7 AM. Our plane flew first to Arusha and then another completely lost airport somewhere in the Savanna, then landed after a fantastic flight experience at the Seronera Airstrip. Serengeti was the terrain of our 1 day (more than 7 hours safari). If we except the Rynos, we saw all of it! Leopard, Lions, Cheetah, Elephants, Giraffe, and so much more. The luxury of being alone in our Jeep was very appreciated. We arrived completely broken at 7 PM at our hotel, had a quick meal and went to bed. The next day, we took advantage of the last hour to stop for some Lion’s cubs. We then took our little plane back to Zanzibar’s dreamy White Sand Luxury villa, near Paje.
